Reshaped: Day 20 - Corrie ten Boom
Deliverance
Reading Psalm 37:23
There were two releases in 1944. On December 16th Betsie died in prison and went home to heaven. On December 31st Corrie was released from Ravensbruck through a clerical error. Truly there are no missteps for the Christian since God orders our steps.
Before Betsie passed away, she shared visions God gave her of two buildings used to rehabilitate the prisoners of war. One was a beautiful mansion on sprawling grounds with flowered landscaping. Betsie described the interior details as though she had been there. The other facility was a renovated building in a former concentration camp painted bright green with flower gardens. Corrie held these visions in her heart.
When she returned home, she was restless. Unable to return to her former life, she sought the Lord. He showed her that she needed to share her story and the gospel with the many broken people of her community. So Corrie arranged public gatherings.
At one event an elegant woman approached Corrie and offered her home to rehabilitate the prisoners of war. When Corrie visited the home, she was shocked to see the many details that Betsie had seen in her vision.
Not long after, Corrie received a call about a concentration camp that had been closed down and the barracks came available. Corrie acquired a building and renovated it according to Betsie’s vision.
Through her obedience, many experienced healing and of course salvation.

Question
- It has been said that God never wastes a tragedy. Think of the many heroes of the faith in scripture. How did God use their tragedies for His glory?
- How is He using your circumstances? Sacrifice is not about our comfort but God’s glory.
