Reshaped: Day 2- Moses
The Wrestling
Reading Exodus 3:11-4:17
God’s command was met with much resistance. Moses was not an eloquent speaker. He was not a communicator by nature and understandably had great concerns that neither the Israelites nor Pharaoh would listen to him.
He needed credibility. He needed a smooth delivery. He needed to convince Pharaoh to release the captives—the very people who bore the labor workforce and helped maintain this pagan ruler’s lifestyle. How was he going to do that?
When Moses questioned this, God gave him a display of miraculous impossibilities. This was to prove that God was capable of anything if Moses would simply be available.
Though God’s proof was irrefutable, Moses didn’t believe in himself enough to step out in faith. So he asked God to find another.
God’s anger was kindled, but in His mercy, He supplied Moses with Aaron, his brother, who was gifted in speech.
